Prosthetics / lightweight construction / modelling
Thermoplastic tape can be moulded under the influence of heat and retains its shape after cooling. It can even be reshaped again by renewed exposure to heat. This is accomplished with a special hybrid yarn, allowing solid parts to be produced using heat and vacuum. The result is a fibre composite with greater strength.
Areas of application are found in the medical field, for example, especially in prosthetics. It is also used wherever lightweight, dimensionally stable components are required.
