Flame protection – for your safety!
Flame-retardant tapes are used in many areas and must fulfil a broad range of standards. BANDEX produces such tapes and has built up extensive expertise in this area. Flame protection can be achieved through the use of special yarns or by applying the appropriate chemicals in the finishing process.
We look forward to assisting you in developing the appropriate flame-retardant tape according to your requirements. You tell us which standards your products have to comply with, and we will develop the right tape for the job. Here are just two examples of possible standards that we have successfully implemented:
Fire protection in railway vehicles according to EN 45545-2
The standard is divided into three sub-standards:
- Oxygen index (parameter is the LOI value in %) according to EN ISO 4589-2
- Smoke index (parameter is Ds (max)) according to EN ISO 5659-2
- Toxicity (parameter is CIT (NLP)) according to test method NFX 70-100
Fire protection for building materials DIN 4102-1 / B1 and EN 13773
The standard DIN 4102, Part 1 defines the flammability test for classification as building material class B1 “flame-retardant”.
