Production Stages

Full-Stage Production of Custom Tapes

BANDEX Relies on Over 60 Years of Experience with Narrow Fabrics and Sound Technical Knowledge

BANDEX leverages a modern fleet of machinery for production, all of which are electronically controlled and interconnected. This setup enables us to work efficiently even with smaller batch sizes and to respond quickly and flexibly to customer requests, thereby meeting higher standards of quality and precision.

With its own warping, weaving, knitting, finishing, and assembly departments, BANDEX can produce a large portion of its range entirely in-house, from yarn to finished tape. This process is carried out with a continuous high standard of quality, flexibility, and speed. Even custom orders or dyeing tapes are possible at any time and starting from surprisingly small order quantities.

Ongoing investment in expansion allows us to meet various customer requests regarding configuration and packaging. We increasingly offer complete solutions by providing additional processing steps such as assembly, cutting, etc., thus delivering entire components to our customers.

Long-term customer relationships are important to us. We ensure these through perfect support, optimal assistance, absolute adherence to deadlines, and a stable price-performance ratio. Our aim is to optimize solutions with our customers, both in terms of the functionality of the final product and potential cost savings. Our high quality standards are cost-effective.

This is evidenced by the first-ever award of a quality management certificate (EN ISO 9001) to a Central European curtain tape weaving mill in 1995 (EN ISO 9001:2015).

Warping and Beaming

From individual yarn spools, the warp threads are prepared on a beam. This is done through warping or beaming, depending on the application. A beam then contains up to 250 threads. Several beams are then made available per loom or knitting machine on a frame.

Weaving

Our electronically controlled narrow weaving machines can weave multi-layer fabrics up to 200 mm wide, and single-layer at double the width. A repeat length of up to 4,000 picks is possible, enabling very long repeats. We can produce all common weave patterns and different fabric weights. Nearly any material available in yarn form can be processed. We can also create mixed fabrics to produce specific tape properties.

A special capability of BANDEX is that we can weave on three levels simultaneously, thus creating a flat fabric, a tunnel, and pockets in one operation. Simple patterns can also be woven.

With our weaving technology, we can also produce woven tubes, such as those used for filtration or shrink tubes.

Knitting

We can also produce knitted tapes on electronic knitting machines. This includes loop tapes. With this technology, BANDEX can produce tapes up to 410 mm wide, with a possible repeat length of up to 2,000 picks.

Finishing and Processing

BANDEX is capable of offering both dry and wet finishing. Desired properties can be achieved through processes like heat setting or flame retardant treatment. Dyeing of tapes is also possible during wet finishing.

Assembly and Fabrication of Complete Components

The finished fabric can be presented according to the customer's wishes – for example, spooled, laid, or cut. However, BANDEX goes further by offering additional processing steps up to the creation and delivery of complete components. With our state-of-the-art and fully automatic laser cutting machine, we can offer any desired cut, including precise and repeat-accurate perforations and bevels at any angle. We can apply coatings and provide printing. What we cannot do in-house, we can still offer through a network of cooperative partners – a complete component from one source.
